The Story
Fantastic Four #10 (January 1963) features Doctor Doom's dramatic return after being hurled into space by Namor. Rescued by the alien Ovoids, Doom learns their mind-transfer technique and uses it to swap bodies with Reed Richards — one of the earliest body-swap storylines in comics.
Significance
Doom's second major appearance and the introduction of body-swapping — a technique that became one of his signature abilities. Also famous for Stan Lee and Jack Kirby appearing as characters in their own comic.
Historical Context
This issue broke the fourth wall years before it became a common trope. Lee and Kirby's cameo was groundbreaking for 1963 and influenced decades of meta-storytelling in comics.
